Dove Buddies Social Group – September 2018

If you fancy joining us on our next meet up of ‘Dove Buddies’, our social/friendship group for adults, please make a date in your diary and meet us at 1pm on Tuesday 18th September 2018 at Ford Green Hall (Ford Green Road, Smallthorne, SOT ST6 1NG) where we will be enjoying a guided tour of this award-winning museum. The Hall offers visitors a fascinating insight into the life of the 17th century. The rooms are furnished with an outstanding collection of textiles, ceramics and furniture.

Ford Green Hall was built in 1624 for Hugh Ford. It is a fine example of a timber-framed farm house. The Ford family lived at the Hall for nearly 200 years. Mr Ford was a yeoman dairy farmer and owned 36 acres of land. In the 19th century after the Ford family left the status of the house declined and it was divided into 3 and later 4 cottages.

The cost for the Guided Tour is £7.50 for Adults and £6.50 for Senior Citizens payable upon entrance.  Meeting at Ford Green Hall at 12.50pm ready for our Tour commencing at 1.00pm prompt.  The Tour will last for approx. 1 hour, followed by refreshments in the Café (at own cost).

Please Note – You don’t have to be a client of the Dove Service to join us at Dove Buddies, we welcome all adults within the local communities who are struggling to get out and meet people after the loss of a wife/husband/parent/child. Come and join us for a look at the history of Ford Green Hall and you may discover some new friendships too.
