Part-time Counsellor Trainer Wirral Area
22.5 hours per week (3 days) with potential for job share
Flexible hours (may include evening or weekends)
Start date: approx. 29th January 2018 (fixed term contract to 31/12/20)
Salary – £23,931.24 pa, pro-rata
A position has become available for a part –time counsellor and trainer in the Wirral area. The position is fixed term, starting the week commencing on the 29th of January 2018 and until the project ends on 31st December 2020.
In 2015, the Dove Service was successful in gaining funding from the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund to run a Children & Young People’s (C&YP) project across North Staffordshire, Cheshire East (Crewe & Nantwich) and the Wirral.
This funding enables us to work with C&YP aged 4+ to offer training, counselling, and peer support within community settings for C&YP, their families, and the professionals who support them.
This role requires great flexibility, time management and communication skills. The successful applicant also requires self-motivation and the ability to manage their own workload. They must be able to provide educational workshops to young people and professionals, facilitate support groups for C&YP and their families, and provide one-to-one counselling as required.
Experience with presentation planning and professional delivery to audiences with a range of ages and abilities is preferred. This role will require networking with various schools, agencies and other support services surrounding young carers. Great importance will be placed on the monitoring and evaluation of all activity, and the role will require a commitment to evidence based practice.
