Emmaus Potteries donates office furniture to The Dove Service

Charlie O’Dell & John Webbe

Emmaus Potteries, the new owners of Furniture Mine has donated essential office furniture to the area’s leading bereavement counselling charity, the Dove Service.

The Dove Service purchased new chairs for their reception and counselling rooms which turned out not to be robust enough to cope with having over 150 clients a week sitting on them and they fell apart within a matter of months.

Without comfy and safe seating to use, there were concerns that entire counselling experience would be ruined for their clients and their staff.

The Dove Service chief executive, Charlie O’Dell, commented, “Our counselling sessions were becoming increasingly hazardous as inevitably one of the chairs would become unstable resulting in clients or staff literally falling off their chairs. This was both dangerous and incredibly disruptive to the entire counselling conversation. We are so grateful to John and his team at Emmaus Furniture Mine for their kind donation and their support of our service.”

Having met with the manager of Emmaus Furniture Mine, John Webbe, their plight was understood and within an hour a van-full of high-quality, comfortable and strong reception-style chairs were delivered to the Dove Service’s offices at the Dudson Centre in Hanley.

Emmaus Furniture Mine’s manager, John Webbe, says “The majority of our income comes from our shop sales and everything we stock is donated by local residents and local businesses. These sales enable us to donate essential items of furniture back to vulnerable local residents and community-based charities. It’s a huge honour to support The Dove Service with this donation of office chairs to enable their crucial service to continue.”

The furniture was kindly donated to Emmaus Furniture Mine by ‘GoGreen’ (GoGreen Managed Services Limited), based in Telford. GoGreen provide a unique Furniture, Fittings and Equipment ‘Re-Use’ Track and Management Programme, on behalf of major branded clients across the UK and EMEA; including supporting great opportunities for donation to Charities/Not for Profit Organisation, such as ours.
