Children & Young People (C&YP) Sessional Counsellor (Wirral)

Salary – £15.00 per hour, per delivered session
The Dove Service has been successful in gaining funding to run a Children & Young People’s (C&YP) project within community locations. Funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
This funding enables us to work with C&YP aged 4+ to offer training, counselling, and peer support within community settings for C&YP, their families, and the professionals who support them. The project will run until 31st December 2020.
The Dove Service is currently recruiting sessional counsellors to work with C&YP within the Wirral, providing additional support to an existing project team, due to phenomenal demand for our services.
This role requires great flexibility, time management and communication skills. The successful applicant requires self-motivation and the ability to manage their own workload, alongside essential experience of working with children, in a counselling setting. The ability to quickly develop a working/ therapeutic relationship with children is absolutely vital. Great importance will be placed on the monitoring and evaluation of all activity, and the role will require a commitment to evidence based practice.
