PLACEMENT COUNSELLORS (CLOSED)

Recruitment for Placement Counsellors is currently CLOSED. Please check our Social Media pages for future updates.

Minimum of 3 clients per week, plus supporting the delivery of 1 support group per month within your designated locality.

Operating in Cheshire East and/or Stoke-on-Trent.

Main responsibilities:

 1.    Maintain ethical supervision as required by the Dove Service (TDS) and BACP.

2.    To abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

3.    To adhere to the policies and procedures and the Code of Conduct for all members.

4.    To provide a minimum of 3 counselling hours per week, initially with adult clients.

5.    To commit to supporting the facilitation of 1 support group per month.

6.    To ensure all client case notes, assessments and any other documentation are completed in accordance with the policies and procedures of TDS.

7.    To attend training sessions provided within TDS and access independent CPD opportunities to enhance personal and professional development.

8.    To carry out any other activity that may reasonably be requested by any member of the management team, drawing on broader skills and knowledge.

 Essential requirements:

 1.    Be confirmed as ‘fit to practice’ by a counselling course tutor prior to starting counselling.

2.    Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and ethical boundaries defined by the BACP.

3.    Demonstrate an interest in contemporary grief/ bereavement theories and practice and earlier theories influencing the development of these (e.g. Attachment).

4.    Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

5.    Be flexible, energetic, enthusiastic, pro-active and self-motivated.

6.    Be committed to continuous personal and professional development.

7.    Be open to change and new challenges, adaptable, flexible in approach and working hours; prepared to explore new ways of working.

8.    Be committed to the aims and values of TDS.

9.    Be a current student member of the BACP.

10. Be committed to achieving 100 hours within 12 months.

 Desirable requirements:

 1.    Minimum of 2 A levels or equivalent.

2.    Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

3.    Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and client databases.
