Help us to rebuild the lives of people affected by bereavement or a life-changing illness
Training & Mentoring
The Dove Service can support your group, school or organisation in many ways. We have developed projects with several other organisations to provide support across Staffordshire and South Cheshire. Our current partners include Groundwork, the Library Service, Wedgwood Memorial College and the Beth Johnson Foundation. We also work in partnership with several Community & Learning Partnerships (C&LPs) and other School Clusters.
So how can we help?
We can work with you to put together a bespoke package based entirely around your particular needs.
Our packages can include one-to-one specialist counselling, awareness raising sessions, mentoring, peer mentoring and training.
Mentoring
We can provide one-to-one sessions for those working in Occupational Health, Care Homes, Emergency Services, and in any other organisations who would benefit from confidential support in the workplace.
Counselling
We provide confidential, client-centred, one-to-one counselling sessions with experienced counsellors. Sessions are offered for 50 minutes on the same day and at the same time each week, and with the same counsellor, to enable you to build a safe, open relationship.
Training
We can provide training sessions on subjects such as active listening, communication, behaviour management, grief and loss, and working with Children & Young People. We can also develop specific training courses to meet the needs of your school/ group/ organisation/ business.
We will be delivering training on a monthly basis to any interested party.
Peer Mentoring
We can help you to develop a peer support group in your school/ college/ youth group. With a focus on bereavement and loss we will train a group of children and / or young people (up to 12 individual learners at a time) to mentor their peers. A member of staff/ professional adult/ other adult will be required to support such a group and will participate in the training.
These groups are designed to be sustainable. The Dove Service will maintain contact and can repeat training if required, until the peer mentor leader feels able to do so independently.
